White Palace is a Location in Hollow Knight. Please see Walkthrough for other areas. The palace of The Pale King that has mysteriously vanished from the kingdom of Hallownest after the spread of The Infection. Well, either it’s the dream bosses, or farming essence from normal enemies for ages lol. Hollow Knight is a 2D adventure/ Metroidvania game for PC, Mac, Linux. You can find ’essence trees’ hidden throughout the game. You can also gain 1 essence everytime you use the dream nail on a ’dream’ version of a dead character. There are also hidden dream bosses - without spoiling anything go and return to bosses you’ve already beaten and see if there’s anything hiding around.

There’s a couple of bosses that you can rematch a harder version of in their dreams. Unlike how it usually goes in fiction, if you die in the dream you don’t die in real life. Once you beat the dream boss you get I think 400 essence. Go look around for bosses that you know left a carcass to dream nail. Whispering Roots are roots filled with Essence found throughout Hallownest. When the Knight hits a Whispering Root with the Dream Nail, it spawns floating Essence throughout the surrounding area for the Knight to collect. After collecting all Essence in the area, the root will grow to a much larger size. Using the Dream Nail on it again will reveal dream dialogue giving vague hints as to the history of that area.Video Walkthrough

The journey continues as players will set forth into the White Palace. And to do this, you’ll need to enter the Dream World by dream nailing the corpse of a knight at the Palace Grounds which is located at the Ancient Basin. However, you’ll need to acquire the Awoken Dream Nail to enter.
To acquire the Awoken Dream Nail, you’ll have to collect 1,800 Essence from defeating Warrior Dreams, dream bosses variants, and by extracting a few Essence from Whispering Root Trees. Once you have the sufficient amount, head back to Seer and speak to it to upgrade the Dream Nail into the Awoken Dream Nail - upon upgrading it, you can head back to the Palace Grounds at the Ancient Basin and dream nail the knight with the Awoken Dream Nail which will respectively take you into the White Palace via the Dream World.The White PalaceCategory:Bosses (Hollow Knight) | Hollow Knight Wiki | Fandom
The White Palace is a difficult area that requires precise platforming and patience. It has three main sections that have Benches in between each one, and each section has a lever that you’ll have to reach in order to gain access into the next section. Upon entering, you’ll find a bench that you can sit on to rest, and not far from it is a lift but the gates around it are locked - continue heading east from the first bench until you reach a mini-arena where you’ll face 1x Kingsmould, you’ll have to defeat it for the gates to re-open.
After killing it, exit to the right side of the gate, climb up, then head left where you’ll find a lever. Hit it then retrace your steps back to where the locked gates were. Hop onto the platform which will take you up to a higher level that has spikes on a few platforms, simply follow the path until you reach the entrance that will lead you into the second section.
Upon entering the second section, climb up the passageway where you’ll hear bugs that are talking. These are the Royal Retainers, they are weak and can be killed with just one strike with The Nail. From here, you’ll want to reach the top right corner of the section and into the next segment where you’ll find the lever. However, It is blocked by the gates and you’ll have to continue heading east where you’ll come across a room that has circular saw blades moving horizontally.
Once you’ve made it across, you’ll find yourself in another room that has the same circular saw blades, only this time, it is moving vertically. In order to reach the top, you’ll have to simultaneously climb up the wall, then dash towards the other end to avoid getting hit by the blades, just be careful when you’re about midway to the top since you’ll come across a wall that has spikes and the movement of the saw blades will be different. To get to the top, you’ll have to cling onto the wall then double jump in between the blades to avoid getting hit - upon reaching the top, head west towards the next segment where you’ll find more saw blades surrounding the room.
Now, timing and precision are important to avoid getting hit by the blades and the spikes that you’ll have to pass through. You’ll have to head at the bottom part of the room where you’ll come across a spiked area to work your way around to reach the west side of the room. Upon reaching the west side, you should find the exit that will take you into the next room where you’ll find a lever at the bottom part. You’ll have to do some platforming again while heading down to avoid getting hit by the blades.
Upon reaching the bottom, you’ll encounter 2x Royal Retainer and a lever that unlocks the gates of the main switch for the lift. Hit the switch, then continue to your left where you’ll find yourself back to where the main switch is, flip the lever then head back outside and head to the southwestern side of the room to reach the second lever to open the gates for the lift. You’ll come across yet another platforming section that have circular saw blades, simply follow the path via the platforms until you reach the second main switch. Flip it then continue following the path that will take you back to the lift, ride it to reach the third section of the palace.
For the third section, you’ll find yourself in a room that has circular saw blades and multiple Wingmould enemies. These beings cannot be killed and the only way to get through it is either by avoiding it or by hitting it with The Nail which will cause its body to disperse for a short while before it reforms its shell. You’ll find a bench that you can use before entering the next portion at the top.
The next portion will be a long path that you’ll have to go through in order to reach the switch that unlocks a gate. And you’ll have to pass through more circular saw blades and spiked metals that emerge from walls, ceilings, and platforms. Simply follow the path and just keep heading to the top until you reach the throne room of The Pale King.
Upon arriving at the throne room, you’ll find the corpse of The Pale King, hit its corpse a few times the other half of the Kingsoul charm gets knocked out from the corpse. Collect the other half to form the Kingsoul charm then head back to The Abyss.The Birthplace
Once you’ve acquired the Kingsoul charm, travel back to the bottom of The Abyss. But before heading into the bottom, make sure to equip the Kingsoul charm. Now, head to the west bottom part of The Abyss where you’ll notice the ground will start to shake and then open up a path that will take you further into the abyss. You’ll encounter more Siblings as you traverse the area.
Simply head to the bottom part then go east until you reach the end where you’ll find a large black broken egg. Strike it with the Awoken Dream Nail to enter the birthplace and use the platforms to reach the top where you’ll find another Hollow Knight - a cutscene will then follow and the Kingsoul charm will change into the Void Heart charm. Grey Prince Zote can be found in Bretta’s basement back at Dirtmouth as long as you’ve rescued both Bretta and Zote and defeated Zote in the Colosseum of Fools. He can be fough up to 10 times but only gives 300 Essence the first time you defeat him.
Grey Prince Zote doesn’t seem to know what he’s doing and is constantly falling over. He’s still difficult to defeat as each time he falls over he’ll create a shockwave and he also likes to teleport around the arena before slamming into the ground.
Zote has 1200 health for the first battle. You’ll need to learn which moves create shockwaves so you can time your jumps over them. You can often get in a swipe or two after each shockwave. The Quick Slash and Fragile Strength charms work will for this fight. The Fragile charms won’t break if you lose a dream boss fight.Failed Champion
The Failed Champion can be found above the arena where you fought the False Knight. After jumping up break the wall to the right and use the Dream Nail on the dead maggot. You can use the Dream Nail on the other Maggots to replenish your soul before entering the fight.
The Failed Champion is a buffed version of the False Knight. Each of his attacks will cause rocks to fall down from the roof but most of his attacks are very similar. When he jumps towards you this gives you a chance to dash underneath. You’ll be able to get in a few strikes before he turns around.
Standing in one of the corners may give you a chance to heal, especially if you have the Quick Focus charm equipped. The Failed Champion will get knocked over a few times, giving you a chance to heal or hit his head for more soul. Eventually he’ll be defeated and go crashing through the floor. Once he’s defeated you’ll receive 300 Essence.Lost Kin
The Lost Kin can be found in the same place as the Broken Vessel in the Ancient Basin. He has 1200 health and slightly more difficult attacks. During the fight blobs of infection will spawn and chase after you.
The strategy for defeating the Lost Kin is basically the same as the Broken Vessel. stay on the ground because the Lost Kin likes to jump. Use Quick Slash to get in many hits at a time and Desolate Dive to really do some damage quickly. Killing the blobs that spawn give you soul so you should have no problem using spells during this fight.
A few times throughout the fight the Lost Kin will get knocked over for a short while, giving you a chance to heal, but you’ll still need to keep an eye on any infected blobs heading your way. Once the Lost Kin has been defeated you’ll be rewarded with 400 Essence.Hollow Knight Essence FarmingWhite Defender
The White Defender has a lot of health, 1600 HP to be exact. He can be found by using the Desolate Dive just under the room to the right of the Dung Defender, where the lever is located.
The White Defender has many of the same attacks as the Dung Defender but he’s fairly easy to predict and most of the attacks can be avoided. Use Quick Slash to hit him repeatedly while he tosses the dung. Follow him around and get in swipes as he performs the dung eruption. If you’re close to him the dung won’t hit you.
Once the White Defender has been defeated you’ll be rewarded with 300 Essence.Soul Tyrant
The Soul Tyrant can be found in the same location as the Soul Master. Use the Dream Nail on the corpse to initiate the fight. The Soul Tyrant has 900 health in the first phase and 350 health in the second.
The Soul Tyrant’s attacks are the same as the Soul Master except he’s a little bit quicker and has more fireballs during his spinning fireball attack. Having the Monarch Wings will make it easier to avoid the shockwave from the ground pound attack.
The Soul Tyrant will teleport around the arena making him difficult to catch up to. You may only get in one or two attacks at a time so the Quicky Slash charm is not very effective for this battle.
During phase 2 the Soul Tyrant will smash through the floor and land in the arena below. He performs teleporting slams repeatedly until he eventually floats stationary on one side of the room. This is your chance to kill him. Avoid the fireballs and hit him with the Abyss Shriek or the Nail. Once he’s defeated you’ll be rewarded with 300 Essence.See Full List On Hollowknight.fandom.com
